Beating Cancer is in our Blood: Valerie Fiordilino Maslow

Dr. Randall Laurich wanted to share Valerie Fiordilino Maslow’s story which is filled with passion for the hematology/oncology field and for LLS which began after she lost her father, Leo to chronic lymphocytic leukemia at the age of 59 in 2009. She has committed her career and life to advocacy, fundraising, and research for blood cancers in her father’s honor and memory. 

In 2012, Valerie was faced with an additional life-altering challenge as she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. One of the treatments that put her MS in remission was the same treatment that her father took under a clinical trial.
